My son participated in the COHORT (group) learning skills class. The only reason that I'm giving this a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating is because it would have been very helpful to have had the class on a weekend, rather than a school night. Losing 2 hours of studying time made for some difficult nights. Aside from that, my son really enjoyed working wtih Synthia and he liked having her as his instructor for this class. They had a good rapport, and she seemed to connect well with him. My son said that the lessons were very helpful and that they taught him a lot of new skills for studying, organization, and more. Although he struggled this semester for other reasons, I think that going forward, he will be able to implement more of the skills that he learned and improve his grades. He expecially liked the lesson that taught him how to better remember/memorize information. Thank you, Jessyka and Synthia for all of your time and effort!

My 8th grader was struggling in some of her classes and having test anxiety. We thought this study skills tutoring would be a good fit for her, especially to bring this into high school as things get more challenging. She will tell you she liked learning more about her learning style (being auditory) and being able to talk about this with Jessyka and realize how to use the things she's learning about in her day to day life to feel better. Jessyka worked with my daughter to prepare her for the ACT exam. With just a few lessons, she was able to provide very helpful content knowledge and answer choice elimination and timing strategies. My daughter's overall (ACT) score went up by 6 points! Her score in the Reading section went up by 11 points and her English score went up by 7 points! Jessyka teaches the material in a way that is easy to understand and provides helpful tips needed to be successful on this exam. She is also very pleasant to work with, which made the overall experience enjoyable. We also worked with Robert to prepare for the math section of the exam. He was also knowledgeable and helpful and great to work with. After just 4 lessons with Robert, my daughter's math score went up by 4 points. Prior to working with Jessyka and Robert, my daughter attempted to study on her own, using prep books that we purchased for her. This was overwhelming and very time consuming. It was also difficult to determine which information would help her the most. Jessyka and Robert were able to quickly determine what was needed and provide targeted instruction, which was extremely helpful!! We are so thankful to have found Ace Cookie Tutoring!
