I Thought Physics was the End

When I was a senior in high school, I took physics. Unfortunately, the teacher didn’t present the material in a way I understood. Unless something changed, all of those years of hard work and studying were going to be wasted. But, I knew I could learn the material. There was no doubt in my mind I knew how to learn, even physics. I’d been honing my study skills for my personal learning style for almost 8 years and using The NERDY Method, even though I didn't know it then.

And whenever I work with students, I share that belief: anyone can learn anything, in or out of the classroom.

So I found a tutor that could teach me physics in a way I understood and enabled me to use the learning style I preferred. I earned the A I needed to become valedictorian and made my dream come true!

Not all students are so lucky. Many students I’ve tutored while serving as the CEO and Founder of Ace Cookie Tutoring don’t know how to learn and don’t know how to study. Schools and most homeschool curriculums are one-size fits all that doesn't meet every student's personal learning needs. This leads many teens to feeling like I did in physics: lost.
